After last week’s break, this show is dedicated to honoring our Titans of Teal. We’ll find out what makes a Titan special and present a list of notable women through history who were diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Your host shares a “Gilda Moment” and a beautiful poem written by Feel Teal Club founder Deb Stevens. Updates include a call to action by contacting your members of Congress and telling them why ovarian cancer research matters to you. Doing so will determine which federal programs will be funded in fiscal year 2013. Last year the OCNA gave packets of forget-me-not seeds at their Annual Conference hoping attendees would plant the seeds to create a National Garden of Hope. Enjoy two inspiring stories on their blog. We’ve featured several of our Titans on previous shows, and we look forward to introducing more of them to you in the future. Stop by our Titans of Teal website for more info…and we’d be delighted to have you join us! Thank you for keeping it real and feeling the teal.

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the opportunity to share my gifts and produce this podcast. By giving a "channel" for others to share their journeys, we are ALL accomplishing the common mission of "keeping it real and feeling the teal"...7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. That message of awareness really hit home...and hit hard this week. My scheduled guest, singer/songwriter/survivor Sharon Valentine Rex, had a dear friend who at the time was in hospice after battling OC since 2010...given the circumstances we decided to postpone our interview. On March 10 I read with sadness this post: "Our Teal Sister, Brandi Chaney, earned her angel wings earlier this evening." Instead of taking the stance "the show must go on" it felt more natural to respect/reflect on this beautiful young woman and how she touched so many lives. I encourage you to visit Brandi's CaringBridge site...and feel the inspiration from a lady who could ROCK THE TEAL like no other! We'll be back next week with another show...meanwhile if you've missed any episodes please enjoy and share.

Did you know that that ovarian cancer has a song? Thanks to a collaboration between music producers/engineers and some great vocals, the song "One Last Chance" was born! Thanks to patience and much perseverance, we also have a wonderful video to accompany. Co-producer and designer Loni Reeder is our guest; she encourages everyone to get behind "feel teal" and do their part for the very important cause of awareness! Updates include: A lunch organized by the Cambridge Branch of Wellbeing of Women to improve the statistics that in the UK alone 145 women a week will die of a gynecological cancer, a sponsorship opportunity for the Georgia OC Alliance Bag of Hope to reach 450 of the 600 women in the state of Georgia who will be diagnosed this year, and vital news from the Cancer Institute in reminding ALL women the importance of being aware of symptoms. This week your host shares her take on “The Evolution of Music”. It’s always been a big part of my life and I do believe it's a universal language...as is laughter. This week I sent copies of my book “Floor It!” to Australia where Deb Stevens is generously helping me go global with road trips down the humor highway! A reminder that in addition to your receiving the gift of laughter, 20% of proceeds are donated to ovarian cancer organizations.

We're kicking off the new year with an episode that is going to ROCK! Our guest is a woman who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer as a teenager in the early 1970's. In addition to giving back BIG time, she encourages all of us to "please reach out to one person...to pay it forward and to love the people around you!" In addition to reporting very encouraging updates on ovarian cancer awareness, advocacy and research as well as events from down under from Feel Teal Club founder Deb Stevens, your host humorously shares her "heritage" and by the end of Episode 8, we'll leave you THUNDERSTRUCK!
